Modification approval: pass the ITV with your camper or mod fully legal
Camper furniture, suspension, oversized tyres, seats, bull bars or lights: if you've modified your vehicle, the ITV requires the modification to be homologated. I prepare the project and technical documents — all online.
When does a modification need approval?
Whenever you change something that affects the technical characteristics on the vehicle's sheet: structure, masses, dimensions, axles and wheels, interior (seats, camper furniture), lighting, etc. Driving with an unapproved modification can mean ITV rejection, fines and insurance trouble after an accident.
Modifications I approve regularly
- Camper conversion (see the dedicated step-by-step page): furniture, bed, kitchen, windows, pop-top roof.
- Suspension: lift or lowering kits, uprated dampers.
- Tyres and wheels outside the sheet's sizes.
- Seats: adding, removing or swivelling.
- Lights: LED bars, work lights, fog lights.
- Others: bull bars, side steps, roof racks, existing tow bars...
How the process works
- You describe the modification via the form (or WhatsApp) with photos and the technical sheet.
- I confirm whether it's approvable and send a fixed quote within 24 working hours.
- I prepare the project and technical documentation.
- With my documents and the garage certificate (where applicable), you pass the ITV and the modification is recorded.

Frequently asked questions
Can I approve a modification that's already done?
Yes — that's the most common case. I check from photos that it's approvable and prepare the paperwork to regularise it.
What if my modification can't be approved?
I tell you before charging anything, along with the alternatives: adjust the modification so it complies, or return to original condition. I won't make you pay for a project doomed to rejection.
Do you homologate in Tenerife, Gran Canaria or Lanzarote?
Yes, on all 8 islands. The procedure is documentary and 100% online: I prepare the project from Fuerteventura and you take the ITV at your island's station with my documents.
Do I need a garage certificate?
Depends on the modification: many require a certificate from the garage that carried it out, in addition to the engineering documents. I'll specify it with your quote.
